ATS CARGOTEK® CARGO BAY PROTECTION SOLUTION SELECTED BY VUELING FOR AIRBUS A320 FLEET

ATS CargoTek System helps airlines avoid expensive, time consuming, and unexpected gate delays as well as reduce aircraft repair costs

Everett, Washington (March 18, 2020) ― ATS (Aviation Technical Services) today announced agreement with Vueling for installation of CargoTek Cargo Bay Protection systems on Vueling’s fleet of Airbus A319, A320 and A321 aircraft.  ATS, an award-winning provider of airframe MRO and component support services, certified and manufactured CargoTek as an FAA STC/PMA approved product to protect OEM cargo bay floors and sidewalls.

“Since April 2019, our 10 Airbus A320 aircraft flying with CargoTek floor panels have shown operational improvements.  Statistics generated from this trial period confirm lower cargo bay maintenance costs and the elimination of cargo-related gate delays attributed to floor panel damage,” stated Xavier Morant, Aircraft Structures Engineer, at Vueling.  “We look forward to installing the CargoTek floor panels on our remaining 115 Airbus A320 family aircraft.  Future plans include adding the ATS CargoTek sidewalls to achieve even further improvements and savings.”

The CargoTek system, which is also available for Boeing 737 aircraft, features moisture and impact resistant CargoTek panels which cover the original equipment flooring while accommodating all hold down locations and openings.  These protective sections can be individually replaced or removed for quick access to the original floor.

“We appreciate the opportunity to demonstrate the value of our CargoTek floor panels to Vueling and IAG,” said Brian Olsen, President of Component and Technical Solutions at ATS.  “The results of their trial period support our published metrics relative to the improvements airlines achieve through use of our CargoTek system.”
