Aviation Technical Services Receives United Arab Emirates GCAA CAR 145 Certification

September 30, 2010

Everett, WA, September 30, 2010 – Aviation Technical Services (ATS) has been awarded the United Arab Emirates (UAE) General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) CAR 145 certification.

The certification was granted as a pre-requisite to ATS performing work installing the Lumexis FTTS™ Inflight Entertainment System on forty four (44) flydubai post-delivery modification (PDM) 737-800 aircraft beginning in October 2010. PDM work includes adding or modifying a feature/features of the aircraft (such as interiors, paint and IFE) coming out of production from the OEM and prior to being delivered to the customer or entering service.

“This, in addition to the China CAAC certification we received earlier this year, further demonstrates ATS commitment in supporting a worldwide market place,” says Landon Nitschke, ATS VP of Operations. “We are very excited to start the flydubai IFE program and demonstrate our world class high quality and performance on yet another aircraft modification program.”

ATS is located just 30 miles from Boeing’s narrowbody aircraft production facility and adjacent to Boeing’s widebody production facility on Paine Field in Everett, Washington. “Installing Lumexis IFE systems on flydubai aircraft is an excellent example of PDM work we’re targeting in our campaign to take advantage of our close proximity,” says Philip Fields, ATS VP Business Development.
